Demonstrated  Leadership

I have demonstrated effective leadership throughout my career and volunteer service, and plan to do the same on the ASD School Board. Here are some examples of where I also give my time and talents:

Brown County Library Board of Trustees

I was nominated by the County Executive and approved by the County Board to join the Board of Trustees of the Brown County Library. In 2021 I was selected by my peers as President, an honor that I have held for three consecutive years. In addition to hiring and supervising the Executive Director, the Board oversees the Library’s budget – over $7 Million in 2023. During my tenure the Board successfully allocated county sales tax revenue for capital improvement projects, oversaw the construction and opening of the library’s East Branch. As President of the Board, I have been part of the team working with the Village to start the process for our new Ashwaubenon Branch – a project that will provide a wonderful resource for all residents of Ashwaubenon and vastly improved resources for our student population.

Board of Bar Examiners

I was selected by the Supreme Court of Wisconsin to join the Board of Bar Examiners. The Board renders decisions about applicants who should, or should not, be granted licenses to practice law in Wisconsin, and helps to protect consumers by monitoring lawyers' compliance with rules for continuing legal education. I have also graded the Wisconsin Bar Exam and assisted with drafting bar exam questions.

Wisconsin Defense Counsel - Board of Directors and Chair of Amicus Committee

The Wisconsin Defense Counsel (WDC) is a premier statewide organization of defense attorneys whose primary role is to provide a professional defense for individuals and businesses involved as defendants in civil lawsuits. The association was founded in 1962 and is dedicated to the defense of Wisconsin citizens and businesses, the maintenance of an equitable civil justice system, and the education of its attorney members. I serve on the Board of Directors of the organization, overseeing the organization’s budget and professional education activities. I have also served for several years as the chairperson of the Amicus Committee, writing briefs to the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court to support WDC members.

Brown County Bar Association Executive Committee

In 2022 I was selected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Brown County Bar Association. We strive to build a professional and collegial community of lawyers in Brown County and offer resources connecting members to better serve individuals in Brown County. I remain part of this leadership team and find this work with our local legal community as important as the work I do for the State.
